The Autumn Magical

This is continuation from our London photos. Had to split into 2 albums because there were so many choices to pick from ;)

[1] Nemo Ship statue and the Hay's Galeria.. The roof reminds me a little of the gallery/shopping mall we had to pass through to get to Grand Place in Brussels.




[2] Charing Cross - now i truly understand how busy London city is.. even at night. the fountains were light up in red that night.




[3] Charing Cross - managed to climb up the Nelson's Column with a lot of help from Gic-san of course.. huhu.. saw a number of kids really determined on climbing the Lions' statue's back as well :P




[4] Trafalgar Square again..hehe.. this is from the night after. its actually Holloween night. it was fun watching so many people dressing up like the dead. we arent brave enough to capure any photo though :P




[5] Tower Bridge and City Hall - this probably holds the record of the most visited spot on our London trip.. have to admit, one of the best views to have a walk is along the Thames River at night ;)




[6] Houses of Parliament - personally I find the view from this side is so much better.. its difficult to capture the whole building though, the end tower is just too high! hoho

[8] Sempat lagi posing while running around the long tunnels connecting one tube to another..




[9] St Paul's Cathedral - I saw on E-channel (back during Astro days in Msia) that Prince Charles and Princess Diana got married here ;)




[10] we went to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards.. but there were another event going on.. it was fun watching the Indian dance




[11] The event is actually the passing of Torch from Queen Elizabeth to Queen of India for Commonwealth Games 2010. Indian atheles (new and old) ran and passed along the Commonwealth Torch outside Buckingham Palace, with dancing and music all around. very cultural and colorful, i like!




[12] makannnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!! at Malaysian Hall.. agreed with Azeze and Muk, that Malaysian Hall is by far the best to get an authentic taste of Malaysian food! yummy!!




[13] cant stop laughing to get this shot.. now that its done, looks like something u see in disney-on-ice la plak! hahahaha




[14] London Eye.. never know its so colorful at night.. the merry-go-round keep on changing colors! nice!




[15] Autumn in Green Park - The leaves are turning gold ready for autumn.

[17] From wiki: Green Park is one of the Royal Parks of London. Covering 47 acres, it lies between London's Hyde Park and St. James's Park. woweeeeeee sungguh besar nyee!! no wonder i was tired from all the walking..




[18] It was actually quite embarassing when we started taking this lying down shots.. but eventually we got used to it :P




[19] Autumn little earth!




[20] so many leaves has fallen down and yet so many still on the trees.. i enjoyed watching the many squirrels running around, while waiting for hubby-kun to setup his tripod and his perfect photo angles..

Malaysian Passport Renewal @ High Commission of Malaysia Office, London [ entry 1 of 2 ] 23:18

We had to make a trip to London because Gic-san's passport is expiring soon. In actual, passport renewal only need 1 day.. cekap sungguh! anyways, I asked hubbee to stay longer so we can hav more time untuk perchentaan and also jalan-jalan cari makan.. besh besh!! the timing was perfect as well, as I've just gone through a stressful few weeks [ never run out of excuses to escape work huh? :P ]

[1] malaysian embassy at belgrave square.. hunny hubbee posing with his renewed passport! yay! so many other embassies around.. reached here at 8am, but the reception only opens at 9am.. so we walked and wondered around while quizzing each other on which flag belongs to which country.. failed miserably tho :P must read more! huhu



Anyways, here's some tips to renew ur passport on in the High commission of Malaysia office in London.

What to Bring

1. Original IC.
2. Original Passport.
3. 3 copies of passport size photo.
4. 1 photocopy of your passport's photo identification page.
5. 1 photocopy of your IC [ front and back on the same page ].
6. A pen [ very important ] :P

The Facilities

1. Public prayer room.
2. Small cafe outside the premise selling local food like nasi lemak :P
3. Self service photocopy machine [ 20p each page ]. But personally I would recommend u do it before coming unless u know how to photocopy front + back of your IC in a same page :P
4. Passport photo booth. £5 for 4 photos. I would strongly suggest have ur photo taken here. There's a lot of people came with their own photos but rejected with the reason of the background color is too light. Your photo need to be on a very dark shade of blue background.

The Procedure

1. Passport Renewal application submission is only between 9am - 12pm.
2. When u come in, register urself in the reception area.
3. Ur name will be called, u need to show ur IC + passport.
4. U'll be given a form + queueing number.
5. After fill up the form, take the passport photo.
6. Once ur number is called, submit the fill-up form.
7. For 5 years international passport, the fee = £50.
8. They'll be taking your finger print digitally + hardcopy.
9. A collection slip will be given.
10. Passport can be collected in the same day between 3pm - 4pm.
11. Bring along ur original IC + collection slip.
12. U'll need to go through a biometric identification before the new + old passport is returned to u.
13. Check all the information in the new passport is correct.
14. Tadaaa! all done.


[2] tower bridge.. the sky really look dramatic that day.. as winter is fast approaching, walking along thames river and along the bridge turns out to be an extremely windy experience! the hostel we stayed at is within 15min walk to here.. knowing gic-san, haa berapa kali laaa asik2 pegi sini sbb x puas hati gmbr x cukup lighting la, awan x dramatic la, n ntah ape2 lagi :P




[3] oxford circus: jumping up & down kegembiraan after shopping..




[4] some tube lines were closed that weekend! so disbelieving! there are alternative routes, but involved some hopping in/out of the train.. n the crowd was impossible.. we ended up having to climb 193 steps of stairs at covent garden (equivalent to 15 storey building, but only heard this announcement when already started climbing and its a 1-way traffic! nak pingsan semput!!)




[5] Paternoster square - a private office square near St Pauls Cathedral.. it was interesting watching so many people in smart suits and long coats after office hour ends.. looks so professional..

[8] japanese canteen: the best part of the trip is makan2!!! this restaurant was recommended online.. its near UCL medical school/hospital i think.. i had salmon teriyaki bento and hunny had prawn udon.. i also ordered some spicy squids for appetizer.. besh n sedapnye!! we want more!!




[9] sculpture that remind gic-san of durian :P i called home the other day and everyone was bragging that they just had durians! hampes! :P




[10] st pauls at night with side view of millenium bridge.. gic-san was so devastated that the millenium bridge were not light-up.. he saw in a photography magazine and has been dying to capture one as well.. hopefully better luck next time :(




[11] charing cross underground - exit to trafalgar square.. we went here for 2 nights and there're always some event going on.. popular spot.. we climbed the Nelson's column (with its the big lions statues) to get a good view of the square.. i was esctatic that finally there're no renovation work going on.. back in 2003, whenever i came here, there were always hideous scaffoldings.. not anymore! hence the reason why we came here 3-4 times on this trip.. kronik! :P




[12] some antique cars event was held at oxford street.. many old couples participate, so romantic *wink*... but i must say, this is a very expensive perchentaan method..must cost a bomb to maintain the cars and the show is only once a year!




[13] it was so amusing watching these cute cars.. a few broke down (or 'involuntary stops' as one of the interviewed owner prefers to call it..hehe) and had to be pushed.. huhu.. some participants even wore custom/vintage english attires. capes, dress super kembang, hats, etc..




[14] chinatown/soho.. such a colorful and cultural place..




[15] big ben.. finally the weather is on our side :) last we went in May (to catch flight to Switzerland from Stansted), it was cloudy with light rain




[16] westminster abbey.. have never took a picture from this angle.. nice!




[17] Tai Chinese Vegetarian restaurant near tottenham court road tube.. altho everything is made from tofu, the taste and texture was so real.. and the owner is a malaysian from penang who stayed here for almost 7 years now.. very nice and friendly! will definitely go here again! yummy!!




[18] piccadilly circus.. waited quite a bit to get a clear shot (without busses), but turned out the one with a bus in motion here is much more eye-catching..hehe penat je tunggu.




[19] oxford street night view.. believe it or not, the christmas decorations for movie release 'A Chrsitmas Carol' are already up ;) if only they light them up..hehe




[20] long journey down under.. at the sides, there are many theatre advertisements.. i planned on catching a play but unfortunately we didnt have enough time.. gic-san tamak and nak amik all sorts of photo shots... :(



[21] london city hall..i love its futuristic design!! sungguh UFO nye :P when we got home, we only noticed the fork lift cleaning window services! aiyoo kacau daun sungguh..hahaha
